Subdivision River
This river developed across the street from us after 5 inches of rain today-and no hurricane. It runs from the subdivision behind us to our retention pond on the left.
I've been fascinated by photography my whole life, & started getting serious about it in 1985 when I bought my first professional camera. I am an environmental biologist by education and my hikes through the prairies, woods and marshlands of my native Illinois and neighboring Wisconsin provided my first portraiture subjects. I filled my portfolio with images of landscapes, as well as macro shots of the wildflowers, prairie grasses and insects indigenous to the region. When I moved to Chicago, my focus shifted as I became enamored of the city and its cityscapes. Later I began to add alternative processes – such as pinhole, infrared & emulsion transfer – to my portfolio and, in the late 90’s, I began shooting mainly digital.
Today, I draw from all this experience to capture the spirit and beauty of each client I am commissioned to photograph. I specialize in on-location shooting, and shoot in a variety of formats – digital, large and medium film, as well as the alternative processes. As a result, I customize each client’s session and provide them with a truly unique and personal portfolio.
